Congratulations to the 33 K-8th graders who auditioned for "Snap the Whip!" We are excited about the story you will tell as families in the mid 1800's Ohio who help each other thrive and survive through summer heat, autumn harvest, winter hardships and spring thaw. We start this Saturday morning with our full cast from 10-11 AM and then all of the girl characters stay until 11:30 AM. Let's begin!

For over twenty years, we attributed any mysterious phenomena in our 1860’s church-turned-community-playhouse to our “mischievous ghost.”

When we power off the lights they continue to cast colorful shadows across the stage floor. That’s our friendly ghost. When a prop goes missing and then reappears the next day. That’s our trickster ghost. But when the unlocked front doors refuse to open, the goosebumps appear and we use the backdoor… with caution. That’s our temperamental ghost.

After a cast member reported hearing a little girl crying just off-stage right and another witnessed a ghostly apparition fly across the balcony into the bell tower, we decided to take action. We invited paranormal investigator Lauren Glenn to use her ghost hunting methodology to explore the mysterious happenings at our playhouse.

Season Subscribers may use their Flex Passes for this event. Let the stories begin!

SPARK (Storytelling to Promote Acceptance, Respect & Kindness) is a Stage Left community outreach effort to promote the art of oral storytelling in Northeast Ohio and share personal stories that reflect the unique struggles and successes of the community. This project was made possible by a very generous donation from the Ohio Arts Council in 2022 which helped us launch SPARK by funding a coaching staff and resource development. Since that time, Stage Left Players have forged ahead with our Storytelling initiative and we’ve scheduled four events throughout our 2023-2024 season. Our community has embraced SPARK.

Artistic Director, Kandy Cleland explains, “A caring family. A caring community. Both begin when we share and listen to each other’s stories. We’re experiencing that joy at the Trinity Playhouse through SPARK.”
