Gaynelle Verdeen Bodeen has thrown out the challenge to any baker who wants to put his or her red velvet cake up against hers. So far we have two challengers- one of them is Aunt LaMerle who is RENOWN for her amazing red velvet cake.

We need more competitors to step up and bring their cakes opening night, 7 pm Saturday, September 24th to challenge Gaynelle and Aunt LaMerle.

Gaynelle has put up $50 and Stage Left is matching that with TWO season flex pass tickets! Free admission to the show, of course, for anyone who shows up with a homemade red velvet cake.

Join Stage Left Players for the comedy “The Red Velvet Cake War” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope & Jamie Wooten at the historic Trinity Playhouse in downtown Lisbon, Ohio at 7 PM on Saturdays and 2 PM on Sundays, September 24 & 25, and October 1, 2, 8 & 9, 2022.Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. In the winter of 1992, I sat with friends around a kitchen table dreaming of sharing our love of theatre with our community. Thirty years later in our Stage Left adventure, those dreams come true each time we open the doors of the Trinity Playhouse.

You can hear it- the buzz of patrons as we show them to their seats.

You can see it- the wonder as they breathe in the history that surrounds them.

You can feel it- the anticipation of becoming a part of the magic in the making.

I welcome you to join our band of courageous, risk taking, silly and serious dreamers for our 30th Season. Find your place as we dare to dream bigger to include storytellers, stargazers, poets, playwrights, artists, dancers, hikers, makers and doers of all that transforms and inspires us to create community.

Find your place here.

Let the magic begin.

Thanks to everyone who joined us on Saturday for our NEA Big Read Kick Off in partnership with Arts Midwest.

Many of you have already borrowed your copy of Andrew Krivak’s The Bear and are excited to join us throughout the year for our scheduled activities.

Up NEXT-

The Bear Hike with Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Eileen Dray-Bardon. Eileen is a member of the County Park District Board of Commissioners who will help us grow in our understanding of the characteristics and habits of ursus americanus- the black bear. We’ll also be able to touch an actual bear pelt and examine bear skulls.

She will be joined by Mayor Peter Wilson, an expert in local birds and bird calls, and the past program coordinator for the County Park District.

This one hour hike will begin at 9 am on Saturday September 24th at Scenic Vista Park on Wayne Bridge Road. The walk will cover approximately 1 mile of moderately rugged terrain The walk will cover approximately 1 mile of moderately rugged terrain during which we will be asked to “discover” what we can along the route. No worries! Eileen and Peter will assist us in identifying “discoveries.”

Please complete the registration form

so that we can supply water and energy bars.

*You do not have to read The Bear prior to the walk. Books will be made available to borrow at the hike. You can pick up a copy at the Lepper Library and the Trinity Playhouse. Let’s Read! Let’s Hike!
